Malaysia Parliament House Series 1976 Bronze Sen Graded By NGC MS65RB.
Rarity:RRR
On 19th April 2014, a piece of Malaysia Parliament House Series 1976 Bronze Sen was auctioned and realized at SGD4,000 (RM11960-including 15% buyer's premium) in Collectibles Auction Asia 3/2014 in Singapore.

In Steven Tan's Coin & Paper Money Catalogue Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei (1845 To Date) First Edition published in 1976, nothing was mention about this rare bronze sen.

In his Second Edition, published in 1977, this rare Malaysia Parliament House Series 1976 Bronze Sen was mentioned for the first time in his catalogue. He mentioned that this 1976 bronze sen is less than 100 pieces known to exist, he priced it RM30 for an uncirculated coin and RM40 for a brilliant uncirculated coin.

In his Third Edition published in 1981, it had increased to RM50 for an uncirculated coin and RM60 for a brilliant uncirculated coin.

We can see a big surged on its price in the Fourth Edition of Steven Tan's catalog published in 1982. From RM50 for an uncirculated coin and RM60 for a brilliant uncirculated coin, it had increased to RM200 and RM250 respectively. However, Mr. Steven Tan's Fifth Edition catalog published one year later does not show any increment in price on this 1976 rare bronze sen.
This Malaysia Parliament House Series 1976 Bronze Sen had doubled its value on Brilliant Uncirculated coin in Steven Tan's Coin & Paper Money Catalogue Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei (1786 To 1990) Tenth Edition published in 1991.Price listed was RM350 for  an uncirculated (UNC) coin and RM500 for a brilliant uncirculated (BU) coin.

For the next 9 years, this rare 1976 bronze sen does not shown an attractive increment in price. In Steven Tan's 15th Edition (2000-2002) published in millennium 2000, it had showed only a slight increased. Prices listed were RM380 for UNC and RM600 for a BU coin.

In 2007, when Steven Tan published his 18th Edition of Coin & Paper Money Catalogue Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei (2007-2009), this rare 1976 bronze sen had increased RM270 and RM300 on its UNC and BU coin respectively to RM650 for an UNC coin and RM900 for a BU piece.

In his 19th Edition catalogue published in 2010, it further increased its value to RM800 for UNC and RM1100 for a BU coin.

Until 2012, in Steven Tan 20th Edition Catalogue, Steven Tan had specially listed price RM800 for this rare 1976 Bronze Sen in Very Find (VF) condition, RM1200 for an Extreme Fine (EF) condition, RM2500 for an UNC coin and RRR for a BU coin.
Today and for the next one year, I believed that you may need to pay RM3500 for a VF in condition coin, RM5000 for a EF condition coin, RM8000 for an UNC/MS61/MS62 graded coin ; RM11000 for a Choice UNC/MS63/MS64; RM13800 for BU/MS65;RM15000 for a graded MS66 and RM18000 to RM20000 for GEM UNC/MS67,MS68 graded pieces.

These prices likely can be achieved because they are collectors from outside Malaysia are collecting these rare 1976 bronze sen as well.
